Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Southwold Primary School, learning is exciting, inspiring and full of opportunity. We work with fantastic local and national organisations to give our children memorable experiences, develop new skills and raise aspirations.
Our partnerships with The University of Nottingham, IntoUniversity and The Nottingham Playhouse bring learning to life through creative projects, careers experiences and hands-on activities. University volunteers also support our children with reading, helping to build confidence and a love of books.
We believe every child should discover their talents. Through Nottingham Music Hub, pupils enjoy music lessons, performances and citywide events. Programmes including National Numeracy, Capital One’s Maths in the Real World and HeSP show children how learning connects to everyday life and future careers.
Our pupils are proud ambassadors for their community. They work with our local MP, councillors, Community Protection Officers, Primary Parliament and Mini Police to develop leadership skills, make a difference and learn how they can help shape their community.
As a proudly diverse school, we also work closely with the Nottingham Education Sanctuary Team (NEST) and other community organisations to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion and ensure every child feels welcomed, valued and inspired.
Together, these partnerships help every child dream big, discover new opportunities and achieve their very best. 🌟
