Forest School
Forest school is run across the school giving all pupils the chance to experience a variety of opportunities to be outside interacting with the natural environment.
Our developing site is proving homes for a multitude of insects and plants, chances to build dens, cook on a fire, work on nature-based crafts, learn how to use tools safely, play nature-based games and take calculated risks within a safe environment.
We also have the fantastic opportunity to use Wollaton Hall Park, where we connect with nature and continue to learn about the wonderful world around us. We are able to investigate the importance of dead wood trees, look for signs of animals, search for footprints and animal droppings, hone our observation skills and discover the presence of different creatures in the park.
The forest school ethos is based on a fundamental respect for children and young people and their capacity to instigate, test and maintain curiosity in the world around them.
It aims to build resilience that will enable continued and creative engagement with their peers and the potential
Forest School is also available for pupils with specific areas of need. Such as communication and interpersonal skills.
