School Profile

Southwold Primary School and Early Years’ Centre is an average sized primary school with 210 pupils on roll. It is a vibrant, successful and friendly place to work. We are a creative school, a Forest school, an international school and are strongly involved in the Food for Life initiative. Our exciting curriculum is centred on project-based learning.

75% of pupils are from minority ethnic groups resulting in a culturally diverse school. The number of pupils from homes where English is not the first language is above average at 60%. There are currently 36 first languages other than English spoken by children in the school.

There are currently six classes and an Early Years’ Centre, teaching children from 3 years of age to 11. Every member of our staff is a versatile, lively and hardworking team member who is always ready and excited to strive for school improvement.

The school is situated on the edges of Radford and Wollaton and we benefit from strong partnerships, including the neighbouring Nottingham Trent University, University of Nottingham and St Peter’s Church in Radford, Flying High Trust, Wollaton family of schools, School Volunteer Readers, Belong, Capital One, National Numeracy Parental Engagement, Crossteach and Nottingham Music Hub.
