Our Year 6 pupils continue to develop their instrumental skills. Our guitarists were learning to play a Blues riff, whilst our flautists are working towards their Grade 1.

Our pupil Reading Rangers have a passion for reading, which they want to share with others. Today they launched their ‘Lunchtime Book Club’.
Pupils from each year group will be invited to the school library each week. Our pupils do love to read 😊
Class 3 have loved their first Forest School session! We have climbed trees, done bark rubbings, sawn wood, hunted for bugs and birds amongst lots of other exciting activities. Mrs Reddings loved the worm measurer! We finished the session around the campfire eating smores and drinking hot chocolate. We can’t wait for next week!
Class 3 have had a wonderful hook day learning all about the Ancient Egyptians.
We used clay to make a cartouche and wrote our names in hieroglyphics. We have used repeating patterns to decorate a an Egyptian collar or ‘wesekh’. We decorated a death mask based on the most famous death mask ever found, that of the boy Pharaoh, Tutankhamun.
Key Stage 1 returned to school after the holidays to CCTV footage of Santa losing control of his sleigh in the storm and a polar bear walking across the playground as he fell off the sleigh – there were polar bear footprints all over the classrooms!!! Children have been busy making a large igloo in the classroom for the polar bear to sleep in overnight, making small igloos using a variety of materials including sugar cubes and finding out facts about polar bears. The children’s task this week is to not only think of ways to keep the polar bear cool, but to write letters to Santa to tell him where his polar bear is and to come and collect him. I wonder how long the polar bear will continue to live at our school???
Class 3 have started their Design and Technology project, ‘How do I use different sewing techniques and fastenings to create a money container?’
We learned about the famous Louis Vuitton and afterwards we learned 3 new sewing techniques.
Year 6 launched their history learning on Ancient Maya by examining a timeline. Children learnt about the four periods of Ancient Maya civilisation before seeing what was happening in Britain and worldwide at the same time!
Congratulations to our winner of the 12 Days of Christmas Attendance Winner. Our pupil has attended school everyday since the start of term. Well done and enjoy your special reward.
This morning children have been experimenting with our new micro:bits. These are tiny programmable computers that can be used to play music and make games among many other things!
Congratulations to Little John for winning the House Team cup this term. They achieved a whopping 23,115 points!

Our audience were treated to an amazing performance of Dick Whittington. Year 5 and 6 pupils showed great performing arts, leaving our audience wanting more.

Congratulations to the winners of our Anti-Bullying poster competition. Their creative and original designs certainly make a ‘Noise About Bullying!’
Our pupils sang beautifully, performing a range of celebrations from different religions. We enjoyed listening to songs such as: ‘Dreidel’ a Jewish celebration of Hanukkah, ‘Feliz Navidad’ Spanish Christmas song, ‘Allah Hoo’ Islamic devotional song and Jingle Bells an American song and was originally written for Thanksgiving.
Our pupils showed great talent and we enjoyed representing our diverse community. well done to our No Outsiders for organising a wonderful event.
Wow, take a look at the wonderful handmade gifts our pupils made to sell at the Christmas Fair. Our families enjoyed toasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate, playing chocolate tombola and much more. A great afternoon was enjoyed by all and helped to raise funds for our school. Thank you to all for your support.
This morning Year 6 welcomed Cross Teach into school for their Christmas Experience workshop. Children completed different activities to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Christmas story.
We visited St Peter’s Church in Radford to celebrate Christingle. Revd Naeem Bahadur retold the Christmas Story. We enjoyed taking part in the service, singing and lighting our Christingle. Thank you very much Revd Naeem and your team.
Well done to all of Class 2 for their amazing efforts with the Great Green Read writing competition. You have all done so well and have been given this fantastic wildlife book for entering from The National Literacy Trust. Great work to all 🤩📕

Class 3 created pop surrealist art work inspired by the Eric Joyner painting, ‘Robot R & R’.
He loves to paint robots and donuts and puts them in different settings. Do you recognise some of the settings in Nottingham that we chose?
Well done to these children for their super efforts with the Christmas card competition. We are very proud of our artists.
Yesterday afternoon, Year 6 enjoyed watching Cinderella at Nottingham Playhouse. Children very loudly took part in the usual pantomime audience participation as well as enjoying the songs, the jokes and the special effects.
Yesterday Year 6 hosted their Autumn Project Exhibition. Children shared their learning from subjects including history, art, design and technology and geography. Finally, parents and children completed an art activity together. This involved using their art learning to create a Christmas card. Thank you to all who attended.
Our pupils could hardly contain their excitement whilst Lilian Greenwood announced the runner up winners of the Christmas Card Competition.
Congratulations to our Year 6 pupil, who was awarded the runner up prize. She showed great artistic talent and skill with her creative festive artwork. We also had two other runners up, who were recognised for their exceptional artwork.
We are so proud all of our pupil entries. They are amazing!

Our pupils and staff enjoyed a truly delicious Christmas Dinner today. Snapping crackers, Christmas cheer and laughter and music danced around the dining room. What a wonderful celebration that was enjoyed by all. Thank you to our amazing catering team too 😊
Children had a wonderful time during the Tooti Frootie workshop. Everyone had the most amazing time singing, dancing and drumming. We even met puppet lions, a giraffe and a huge snake. They loved it!
This afternoon, Year 6 completed some fieldwork as part of their geography learning. Children practised their map skills while enjoying a local walk which focussed on leisure activities. They then compared their findings to their recent study of Innsbruck, Austria.
