Year 1

Welcome to class 1’s page:

Autumn KS1 Project Overview 25

This autumn is full of creativity, discovery and fun!

In English, the children are enjoying a range of stories about toys—sparking imagination, inspiring discussion and linking to our wider curriculum. Children will also boost their confidence in reading and writing through regular phonics, spelling and handwriting.

In Maths, we’re focusing on place value before moving on to addition and subtraction; using hands-on activities to bring numbers to life. Our Science lessons investigating materials will foster opportunities for curiosity and exploration.

In History, we’re exploring Toys Through Time, comparing the children’s own toys with those from their parents, grandparents and the Victorian era. In Geography, we’re discovering UK weather—observing changes, spotting patterns and learning how it shapes daily life.
