🎉 What a Fun Week in Reception. 🎉

We’ve had a fantastic week full of hands-on learning and creativity!

🧦 In Maths, we practiced matching socks — a fun way to explore patterns and pairs! We even designed our own matching socks using colours. We enjoyed using conkers, cubes, and fir cones in our matching activities. We explored their shapes, textures, and sizes, comparing natural and man-made objects. The children were especially fascinated by the spiky outer shell of the conkers –  lots of curious hands and great describing words were used like “prickly”, “bumpy”, and “hard”!  These hands-on experiences are helping us build early maths and science skills in a playful, meaningful way.

🎨 We also enjoyed making pictures from different parts, using our imagination and fine motor skills to create some brilliant artwork.

✏️ In Writing, the children worked so hard in their writing books — we saw some amazing sentence building and letter formation! 🌟

🔤 We had lots of fun with Fred in Phonics, blending sounds and learning new words together.

🏃‍♂️ In PE, we focused on learning how to throw and catch, developing our coordination and teamwork.

Well done, everyone — we’re so proud of all your hard work and enthusiasm this week!
